About

The Full Story

Greg Olsen’s passion for residential design began when he was just 12 years old, after stepping into a friend’s 1940s Bungalow in Waukesha, Wisconsin. The craftsmanship, character, and atmosphere of that home made a lasting impression and sparked a lifelong fascination with what makes a house feel like home. From that day forward, Greg viewed every home with a sense of curiosity, asking what created that emotional connection between architecture and experience.

With over 33 years of experience in the industry, Greg has cultivated a reputation for designing innovative, functional, and timeless residential spaces. His award-winning homes blend classic architectural principles with modern trends, resulting in designs that are both beautiful and enduring.

Greg’s artistic instincts were shaped early on by his grandfather, a talented artist who encouraged him to draw and observe the world more closely. That influence laid the groundwork for Greg’s lifelong connection to design.

After years of art classes, he took his first architectural design course in high school and immediately knew he had found his calling.

By age 20, Greg had earned technical training and began working for a model home builder in Milwaukee. He was mentored by architects and a master carpenter who each helped him refine both his presentation skills and technical documentation, ensuring that his drawings were not only visually impressive but also buildable and contractor-friendly. Early in his career, Greg also became proficient in computer-aided design (CAD), giving him the tools to streamline his creative process and deliver high-quality results efficiently.

In 2000, Greg launched his own residential design business and quickly gained recognition throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. From traditional and French Country to Arts and Crafts, Farmhouse, and Modern Contemporary styles, Greg’s portfolio reflects a wide range of design capabilities and an unwavering commitment to client vision.

What truly sets Greg apart is his approach. He designs with his clients, not for them. He is known for his outstanding listening and communication skills, as well as his ability to extract a client’s vision even when they can’t fully articulate it themselves. He brings a rare combination of creativity, technical knowledge, and problem-solving ability to every project, navigating zoning regulations, building codes, and construction challenges with ease.

Greg is also a stickler for budget alignment. He knows how to design within financial constraints without compromising beauty or integrity, helping clients feel confident every step of the way.

After building a long-standing career and loyal clientele in Wisconsin, Greg is now bringing his talents to Arizona. With a deep respect for the Southwest’s natural landscape, Greg is excited to craft homes that reflect the textures, tones, and beauty of the desert environment. While many of his lakefront homes in the Midwest have featured a rustic style, Greg designs in all aesthetics and is looking forward to expanding his style reach in Arizona.

Each project is a collaboration. Each design is a reflection of the people who will live in it. And at the heart of it all is the same passion that started it decades ago in a simple Bungalow in Waukesha: thoughtful design, tailored to real lives, made to last for generations.
